Kindness to parents is one of the greatest acts of obedience, the highest acts of closeness to God, and the most obligatory of duties. Because there are rulings related to it and issues surrounding it, this book was compiled to gather some of what relates to this blessed act of obedience. So that the Muslim can look into these issues and their related rulings and etiquette, thus increasing in understanding and comprehension. And so they may know what is obligatory upon them, what is encouraged, what is permissible, what is disliked, and what is forbidden.
This book discusses the topic of kindness to parents and presents it to us in the verses of the Holy Quran, in the stories of the prophets, kindness to parents in the Sunnah, and among the companions and the righteous predecessors. It also teaches us how to be kind to parents and what constitutes disobedience to them. It contains issues related to the financial rights of parents, issues where kindness to parents conflicts with other acts of obedience, and how to be kind to parents after their death.
